Chaing Mai

I know the post says Chaing Mai, but we also went to a place called Kanchanaburi which is about two and half hours away from Bangkok. We went to a place called Erawan Falls. This water fall has seven tiers that you can hike up and then bathe in the pools in between. I am proud to say that I made up six and half of the tiers. The last part involved some climbing so Auburn and stayed while Simon went to the top. It was really quite beautiful. It is a place that a lot of local Thais go on the weekend. I picked pictures without other people in them, but it was pretty full the day we went.
I think this was the fourth level.
Isn't she adorable?

Chaing Mai
Chaing Mai is in the northern part of Thailand. We got a sweet deal on some airline tickets and flew out of Bangkok. We went to an elephant camp, the zoo and saw a ton of cool Wats. At the elephant camp we saw the elephants bathe, play soccer, paint and put on a little show. We were also able to ride an elephant. It was pretty cool.

Simon getting some love from the elephants.

Auburn really liked the elephants. She kept calling them "dogs". That is what she calls almost every animal that has four legs.

We went to the zoo. It was unimpressive, but Auburn didn't really care. She loved seeing the animals and playing on the playground.

Doi Suthep
It is a Wat in the mountains and is one of the most sacred sites in Thailand for Buddhists.

There was some type of religious celebration going on while we were there, but we had no idea what it was.

I can't believe how big Auburn is getting! And those pools look spectacular. I'm impressed you made it to 6! Let Simon know Gold Heist made it today- Thank you! We'll wrap it and put it under the tree. Have fun in the Alps. It should be a different experience going this time of year.

Great photography! Glad to see all of the Republican references along the way!

Auburn's blessing

On Sunday, November 23rd, Simon was able to bless our precious little Auburn. Grandpa and Grandma Hill were able to be here for the blessing. I know that Papi and Grandma Little wished they could of been here as well. We had an earlier visit from the Littles when Auby was just a few weeks old. Grandma Hill made her beautiful dress and Grandma Perkins made her blanket. This weekend we had our first snowfall. The temperature was frigid and there was still snow on the ground. It still turned out to be a wonderful day. Auburn was her perfect little self. She didn't cry at all and her Daddy gave her a beautiful blessing. We are so blessed to have her in our lives!

It's a ......

We found out last past week that we are expecting .... a baby boy! We are super excited! I had a feeling ever since we found out that I was pregnant that would be having a boy. Auburn came to the ultrasound with us and repeatedly said "baby" while we looked at the screen. We are excited for her to have a little brother. We just need to start thinking of baby boy names ....

preparing for baby

I guess I had forgotten all of the things that need to be done to prepare for a new baby. We have also been trying to prepare Auburn for the the baby as well. Auburn now refers to herself as "big girl" (she also calls herself Auby). We took her "bink" away a few months ago. She was only using it for sleep. The first night she was furious, but then that was it. She asked for it at naptime for the next few weeks and then, nothing, no more bink. She started sleeping in her big girl bed last week. There has been no problems with that transition either. Simon asked her the other day if she wanted to sleep in the crib of the bed and she said "big girl bed". I know that there will be some jealousy, but so far so good. I started buying newborn diapers, washing all of his clothes, moved the crib up to newborn and put boy sheets on and packed my bag for the hospital. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone. We are only 3 weeks away.... This is the be
