Pretty

Auburn is a total girly girl! She loves playing with my jewelry box and putting all of the bracelets on her arm. A few months ago she started calling the bracelets "pretty". Now all jewelry, Christmas ornaments, sparkly lights, dresses are all called "pretty". She loves putting on her "pretty" Sunday dresses. Every time I open her closet she comments how pretty her dresses are and wants to touch them. She also knows the word "card" because she loves playing with our credit cards. We better watch out for her when she hits her teenage years.

She's got some southern blood in her....Emily's Mimi calls barrettes and jewelry "pretty pretties". I highly recommend a "kaboodles" type box to collect all of her own pretty pretties...it's made life better for me!

Ich bin schwanger

Translation: I am pregnant! We are so excited to be parents again. I have been blessed to feel pretty good through the first trimester. The offical due date for our little one is May 12th. It is the day before our 4th anniversary. We don't really think that Auburn understands what is going on. When we say baby, she gets her baby doll. Although she does point to the ultrasound pictures and says baby, which I think is super sweet!

Mexico - Mayan ruins II

Simon's parents had to get back to their mission in Mexico City and we continued on our trip.  We saw a lot of ruins, 9 in total.  This is the next post of Mayan ruins.  It was actually great for the kids as well.  They could run around, climb and explore. It was interesting to see the differences at each sight.  The kids had their favorites by the end of the trip.  We also taught them a little bit about Mayan culture. Edzna   These well preserved carvings were great.       Palanque These were probably my favorite ruins.  It is set in the jungle and it felt very peaceful there. It is hard to believe that only 10 percent of the structures are actually uncovered.  The rest are still covered by the jungle. some well preserved carvings waterfalls in the middle of the ruins The Palace   Temple of Inscription   The kids had a great time climbing up and exploring...
