our conley, conley

These pictures are old, but I thought I would do a little update on my Conley. He had his year check-up a few weeks ago, it was late, but oh well. He is weighing in at 25 lbs and is 31.5 inches long. That puts him in the 75 percentile for height and weight. He was a baby sumo and was off of the charts, but has slowed down. Now the doctors are concerned that he isn't on a curve at all and I have to go in again in five months to check his weight again.
He just started walking, like yesterday! He has been using everything you could possibly imagine (i.e. the lego box) to walk with and finally decided yesterday that he could walk alone. He is super proud of himself and I am sure it won't be long until he is running.
He can say mom, dad, ba, dog, duck, this, wa (water), pig, cat, and make a few animal sounds (woof and quack). He loves dogs! He gets so excited when he seems them in the park.
He adores his sister. They play very well together. I cut his hair this weekend. It is his second haircut. This kid has a lot of hair and it grows fast.

He know has six teeth and I am pretty sure with all of the

drooling and chewing that there are more coming.

He loves reading books.

He gets so excited when Simon pulls out the guitar and likes to hold the pick.

This is Conley asleep. If you can't tell he was sitting up and just fell forward.
This has happened multiple times, and I laugh everytime it does.

Mexico - Mayan ruins II

Simon's parents had to get back to their mission in Mexico City and we continued on our trip.  We saw a lot of ruins, 9 in total.  This is the next post of Mayan ruins.  It was actually great for the kids as well.  They could run around, climb and explore. It was interesting to see the differences at each sight.  The kids had their favorites by the end of the trip.  We also taught them a little bit about Mayan culture. Edzna   These well preserved carvings were great.       Palanque These were probably my favorite ruins.  It is set in the jungle and it felt very peaceful there. It is hard to believe that only 10 percent of the structures are actually uncovered.  The rest are still covered by the jungle. some well preserved carvings waterfalls in the middle of the ruins The Palace   Temple of Inscription   The kids had a great time climbing up and exploring...
