Copenhagen

A week before we went to China to spent a weekend in Copenhagen.  It was a little crazy, especially since Simon returned home from a business trip from Dubai that same morning we left.  I have always wanted to go to Denmark, I can't explain it, but Copenhagen was a city that I always wanted to visit.  Simon found a deal on tickets and a hotel back in August, so we snatched them up.  We had a lovely, relaxing weekend seeing the sights in Copenhagen.  Here are some of things that we did:

We browsed a few art museums.

saw the changing of the guard at Amalienborg Castle where the royal family lives.

Vor Frue Kirke
We saw the statue of Jesus and the twelve Apostles made by Bertel Thorvaldsen.

enjoyed the National Museum

found the cutest little guard you ever saw

took in a FC Copenhagen guard with a happy little girl

visited Vor Freslers Church

saw a view of the Marble Church and Amalienborg castle from across the water and wandered through the free state of Christiania

relaxed and played in the hotel

walked along Nyhavn street

Ich bin schwanger

Translation: I am pregnant! We are so excited to be parents again. I have been blessed to feel pretty good through the first trimester. The offical due date for our little one is May 12th. It is the day before our 4th anniversary. We don't really think that Auburn understands what is going on. When we say baby, she gets her baby doll. Although she does point to the ultrasound pictures and says baby, which I think is super sweet!

Mexico - Mayan ruins II

Simon's parents had to get back to their mission in Mexico City and we continued on our trip.  We saw a lot of ruins, 9 in total.  This is the next post of Mayan ruins.  It was actually great for the kids as well.  They could run around, climb and explore. It was interesting to see the differences at each sight.  The kids had their favorites by the end of the trip.  We also taught them a little bit about Mayan culture. Edzna   These well preserved carvings were great.       Palanque These were probably my favorite ruins.  It is set in the jungle and it felt very peaceful there. It is hard to believe that only 10 percent of the structures are actually uncovered.  The rest are still covered by the jungle. some well preserved carvings waterfalls in the middle of the ruins The Palace   Temple of Inscription   The kids had a great time climbing up and exploring...
