a weekend away

My sister Carrie came for a visit this summer.  She is a teacher and has spent her last two summers traveling around Europe and seeing us.  We were able to head to Prague for a weekend, just us sisters.  It was great.  Simon came home from a business trip that morning, it was a little tight but it worked.  Having my sister here with me was definitely the highlight a of my summer.  We took the bus from Munich to Prague.  Unfortunately, so did a bunch of people with kegs of beer.  The ride back was much nicer.  I was able to find a 9 euro bus ticket.  We stayed in hostel and I was reminded of how old I am when we started talking to the other girls in our room.  A big thanks to Simon for watching the kids and cleaning the house and a thanks to Carrie for a wonderful weekend.

Our first stop was Prague Castle

 St. Vitus Cathedral

This is my awesome sister Carrie.

St. George Bascilica

Charles Bridge
This place was packed with tourists for most of the day.  We just happen to be early risers and got their before the crowds.

Jewish quarter cemetary

Astronomical Clock
This was first installed in 1410 and is the oldest working clock of it's kind.

The Dancing House
It was originally named Fred and Ginger, as the house represents a pair of dancers.

View of the city

We went to a concert of Mozart, Vivaldi and Bach in this cathedral.

We ended the day with a traditional Czech dinner and some delicious strudel.

It's a ......

We found out last past week that we are expecting .... a baby boy! We are super excited! I had a feeling ever since we found out that I was pregnant that would be having a boy. Auburn came to the ultrasound with us and repeatedly said "baby" while we looked at the screen. We are excited for her to have a little brother. We just need to start thinking of baby boy names ....

Auburn's blessing

On Sunday, November 23rd, Simon was able to bless our precious little Auburn. Grandpa and Grandma Hill were able to be here for the blessing. I know that Papi and Grandma Little wished they could of been here as well. We had an earlier visit from the Littles when Auby was just a few weeks old. Grandma Hill made her beautiful dress and Grandma Perkins made her blanket. This weekend we had our first snowfall. The temperature was frigid and there was still snow on the ground. It still turned out to be a wonderful day. Auburn was her perfect little self. She didn't cry at all and her Daddy gave her a beautiful blessing. We are so blessed to have her in our lives!
