Happy 4th Auburn!

Our little Auburn turned four last month.  She was so excited for this birthday.  She has been on the countdown since Conley's birthday in May.  She got so excited when we moved from months, to weeks and then days.  This lucky little girl had her California grandparents here for the occasion.  We surprised her on her birthday with a trip to Wildlife Poing.  It is a park where you can feed the animals and see some other native animals from Germany.  She loved it.  It was a little bit rainy and overcast, but still great.  We came home to dinner, chicken pillows, potatoes, salad and peas all at her request.  We then opened presents and ate cake and ice cream!

This goat was a little demanding and jumped on all of the adults.
Conley was afraid that this goat would eat him.

This sweet little girl wanted a pink and purple castle cake for her birthday.  Her Mom really loves her, because she is not a cake decorator.  It isn't perfect, but Auburn was thrilled with it and that is all that really matters.

The cake was of course chocolate.
I don't think my kids know that there is another flavor of cake, and I am okay with that.

She was totally spoiled!  Thanks Oma and Opa, Grandma and Grandpa, Abuelita and the Johnsons!

Grandma made her this dress for her birthday.  She loves it and tells me that because the dress is purple she is Rapunzel.  If you can't tell we are on a big princess kick right now.

Happy Birthday to our sweet little four year old.  You are sweet, bright, considerate, creative and such a joy to be around.  The last four years have been so happy for us.  We love you!

Mexico - Mayan ruins II

Simon's parents had to get back to their mission in Mexico City and we continued on our trip.  We saw a lot of ruins, 9 in total.  This is the next post of Mayan ruins.  It was actually great for the kids as well.  They could run around, climb and explore. It was interesting to see the differences at each sight.  The kids had their favorites by the end of the trip.  We also taught them a little bit about Mayan culture. Edzna   These well preserved carvings were great.       Palanque These were probably my favorite ruins.  It is set in the jungle and it felt very peaceful there. It is hard to believe that only 10 percent of the structures are actually uncovered.  The rest are still covered by the jungle. some well preserved carvings waterfalls in the middle of the ruins The Palace   Temple of Inscription   The kids had a great time climbing up and exploring...
