Egypt

So, Egypt.... it was a blast!!! What a crazy place with a bunch of crazy people. There is so much history!! The sites were awesome. Auburn was huge hit!!! Everyone loved her. People would stop and take pictures of her. Seriously, one lady stopped her car to get out to have her picture taken with Auburn. I wasn't expecting that. We have a ton a pictures, so I tried to just pull out of few....although there are a ton on here.

There are mosques everywhere.

Simon and Ryan hiked from the Valley of the Kings to the Temple of Hatshepsut. Auby and I took a cab because there was some climbing involved.

The Red Pyramid. The entrance is not quite halfway up. We all got to go inside, except Auburn. It was amazing to go inside and see how they they built these amazing buildings.

The camel market just outside of Cairo. There were SO many camels.

Egypt vs. Ghana.
There were four soccers games total for the trip. At one of the games we were surrounded by a bunch of children. They kept coming up to us and asking the only questions they knew in English, like "What is your name?" and "How are you?"

Mexico - Mayan ruins II

Simon's parents had to get back to their mission in Mexico City and we continued on our trip.  We saw a lot of ruins, 9 in total.  This is the next post of Mayan ruins.  It was actually great for the kids as well.  They could run around, climb and explore. It was interesting to see the differences at each sight.  The kids had their favorites by the end of the trip.  We also taught them a little bit about Mayan culture. Edzna   These well preserved carvings were great.       Palanque These were probably my favorite ruins.  It is set in the jungle and it felt very peaceful there. It is hard to believe that only 10 percent of the structures are actually uncovered.  The rest are still covered by the jungle. some well preserved carvings waterfalls in the middle of the ruins The Palace   Temple of Inscription   The kids had a great time climbing up and exploring...
