Ireland

Two days after our little girl's first birthday we took a trip to Ireland. We actually flew into Belfast, which is in North Ireland, rented a car and drove all over Ireland. These pictures don't really do justice. It was so beautiful. We were really lucky to have nice weather throughout the entire trip. The pictures are all in the wrong order, sorry. Anyway, I hope you enjoy!
The Ring of Kerry
This is a circular tourist trail that is about 170 km. It is absolutely beautiful. We stopped to see a few of the sights. Here are a few pictures from our Ring of Kerry drive.

Giant Causeway
This is in Northern Ireland. It has these awesome hexagonal shaped stones as a result of a volcanic eruption. It was really cool to hike around it.

The Cliffs of Moher
These are amazing cliffs that are on the western side of Ireland. We got a flat tire on the way to the Cliffs. I am grateful Simon has much experience in changing tires and that there was a real tire not a donut in the trunk. The jack in our rental car was really weird, and luckily we broke down in front of a house of a very nice man who let us use his.

Like I said before these pictures really don't do the cliffs justice. They are incredible!!!! We were fighting with fog all day long. It would come and go quite quickly. Sometimes we couldn't even see the cliffs.

This is where the the Titanic was constructed. The fish has pictures and newspapers clippings from the history of Belfast.

Mexico - Mayan ruins II

Simon's parents had to get back to their mission in Mexico City and we continued on our trip.  We saw a lot of ruins, 9 in total.  This is the next post of Mayan ruins.  It was actually great for the kids as well.  They could run around, climb and explore. It was interesting to see the differences at each sight.  The kids had their favorites by the end of the trip.  We also taught them a little bit about Mayan culture. Edzna   These well preserved carvings were great.       Palanque These were probably my favorite ruins.  It is set in the jungle and it felt very peaceful there. It is hard to believe that only 10 percent of the structures are actually uncovered.  The rest are still covered by the jungle. some well preserved carvings waterfalls in the middle of the ruins The Palace   Temple of Inscription   The kids had a great time climbing up and exploring...
