funny things Auburn said this week

Simon has been out of town (more about that later) and so I have tried to remember the new things that Auburn has said. Here are a few of the funny ones.... (remember she is not even two yet)

"pink bear wear brown shoes"
She is really into dressing up her teddy bears lately.
"how about some tortellini?"
That is what we had for dinner tonight. I laughed when she said it because it sounds so grown up.
"Conley's chillin"
She tells me when Conley is sleeping, awake ect, but this made me laugh. I guess I said it awhile ago.
Nephi, Lehi, Liahona, Moroni ect....
She got a Book of Mormon story book from my parents and now she knows all of the Book of Mormon prophets. She tells me the names all the time.
"Auburn count strawberries, 1,2,3"
I about fell over when she said this. She counts everything to three. She also started telling me the numbers in one of her books, she got 1-5 right. I think my Mom taught that to her while she was here.
"bless you Conley"

me: where is Daddy?
Auburn: Africa
me: what is Daddy doing in Africa?
Auby: soccer game
me: who is with Daddy?
Auby: Ryan
me: who won the game today?
Auby: USA

The best of all is that she finally started saying "I love you"! There is something about hearing "I love you Mommy" that just melts my heart!

Oh my goodness she continues to amaze me with her vocabulary! Do you think it has to do with the multi-lingual situation? I wonder if the extra exposure to phonetic sounds helps? Sounds like an interesting linguistic research project! =)

Nathan likes how Auburn refers to herself in the the third person. Nathan thinks she should continue doing that.

Mexico - Mayan ruins II

Simon's parents had to get back to their mission in Mexico City and we continued on our trip.  We saw a lot of ruins, 9 in total.  This is the next post of Mayan ruins.  It was actually great for the kids as well.  They could run around, climb and explore. It was interesting to see the differences at each sight.  The kids had their favorites by the end of the trip.  We also taught them a little bit about Mayan culture. Edzna   These well preserved carvings were great.       Palanque These were probably my favorite ruins.  It is set in the jungle and it felt very peaceful there. It is hard to believe that only 10 percent of the structures are actually uncovered.  The rest are still covered by the jungle. some well preserved carvings waterfalls in the middle of the ruins The Palace   Temple of Inscription   The kids had a great time climbing up and exploring...
