I knew it would happen....

I just didn't think it would be so soon.

My children had their doctor checkups last week at the same time. As you know they take all of their measurements and guess what.... my children weigh the same. Seriously, I'm not kidding. My 23 month old daugher and my 3 and half month son weigh the same, almost 22 pounds. It's okay, you can laugh, we both did.

So a little update on the kids...

Auburn

She is only in the 10th percentile for weight and 25 percentile for height. She is talking up a storm using 6-7 word sentences. She loves her baby and everything involved in taking care of her, feeding, rocking her and putting her down for a nap, changing her "poopie diaper" ect. She loves clothes and gets really excited to help me with the laundry. She loves to narrate as we fold, "Conley's ball onesie" or "Auburn's heart shirt" and so forth. She also likes picking out her and Conley's outfits. She is also way into blocks, animals and music with Daddy. The other day she was singing a Rob Thomas song... and frequently asks for different bands, but her favorite is Def Leppard.

Conley

He is in the 90th percentile for height and way off the chart for weight. He is one big boy. He, well I probably shouldn't say this, but he sleeps for 9-10 hours a night. Simon keeps reminding me that I am one lucky mother, I agree. I feel kind of spoiled. He is such a happy, content baby. He smiles all the time and has started laughing. To be honest he doesn't really cry. He is such a sweet boy!

Wow, Conley puts Sam weighing 18 lbs at 4 months to shame! My guess is Conley will loose a couple pounds over the next 3 months as he starts to roll and wiggle. Sierra's weight gain slowed WAY down btwn 6-7 months.

Okay, a few crunches each morning, followed by three reps of 12 50-kg bench presses, fit him for cleats, tape him up, and try him out on the Cougar offensive line!
That is hilarious! Porter was 23 lbs 8 oz at his two year checkup...way more like Auburn than Conley! Although he did have some serious chunks when he was tiny :)

Your kids are super precious!!! I love the updates!

Ha ha ha! That is funny. It's right to be a petite girl in this world. Too bad it is opposite over here. My Katie at 2 1/2 weighs more than her brother Jeffrey at age 4. Hmm. Well, at least we have cute healthy kids right?

Prague

So this week Simon's parents were in town visiting, and we decided to take a little weekend trip. The night before we left we decided on Prague. None of us had ever been there, we didn't have to drive over the Alps, and it was relatively close only about 3 and half hours away. Before we left we had to make sure that the rental car could drive to the Czech Republic, because apparently not all rental cars can, they have to be a certain type. I still don't know why. To make our adventure even crazier, the bag with Simon and my stuff in it somehow didn't make into the car. We did not make this discovery until we were at our hotel. Luckily, Auby's stuff made it and we had our coats and gloves. We did however, miss our thermals it was very cold. I'm sorry that there aren't more pictures of Auburn. She was bundled up in her stroller. Prague is a really neat city and has a lot to explore. Here are some of pictures..... St. Nicholas Church, where Mozart once played t...

reading

Auburn has been asking me to teach her to read.  So, I decided to try and just see what would happen.  She just barely turned four and I didn't want to push her, but she was excited so we started.  I am also not a fan of German Kindergarten (preschool here) and I know that she needed some extra stimulation.  Thank heavens for the internet and a knowledgeable sister-in-law.  We have been doing word family crafts, a sight word caterpillar and working on phonics.  There are so many wonderful resources out there to make learning to read fun.  She is really reading now and loves it.  She picks up books and reads the words she knows and asks us for the ones she doesn't know.  She is sounding words out and totally amazes me.  Right now she will read to anyone that will sit down with her.  reading to Uncle Seth and Conley  This is a common scene at our house, and makes me so happy.

movie of our trip to Mexico

Simon made a video of our trip to Mexico, Guatemala and Belize. Since I haven't gotten around to posting about the rest of our trip (that happened a year ago), I am just going to post the link to the movie on youtube.  Hope you enjoy!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLnUgh7HfbM
