road trip - II

After our little stay in the hospital, we decided to head home to Munich to regroup and see how Auburn was doing. We came home and Auburn played, so we did laundry, and made plans to continue in the morning. Well, Auburn jumped out of bed so we headed onward ... to Switzerland. We just prayed that the second part of our trip would be better than the first, (which it was).

While Auburn and I were in the hospital, Simon had to find ways to keep Conley and himself entertained. Conley was allowed to stay at the hospital very long. Luckily we were in the Eisenstadt which is about one hour from Vienna and the same to Bratislava. One day they headed to Vienna. This is St. Stephens Cathedral inside. Simon said it was really psychedelic with the lights.

The next day they headed to Bratislava and caught the Slovakia v. Andorra game. Apparently it was poorly attended, but Conley had a blast !

We spent our first morning at Achensee. It is a beautiful lake in western Austria. We all stuck our toes in, but it was a little too cold for a swim.

(I love Conley's chubbiness)

I just threw this in because I thougth he looked handsome in this picture.

Then we headed to the Swarovski Kristallwelten. The headquarters for Swarovski is in Wattens, Austria and they have an exhibit there.

We stayed in this awesome hostel in Feldkirch, close to Switzerland and Leichtenstein. This building is 700 years old and it served many purposes back in the day, including a hospital.

The next morning we headed to Leichtenstein, because, well, I wanted to say that I had been there. We stopped and eat found the best playground ever. We ate breakfast and let our kids play for a little bit before heading on. Oh, and we got stopped by the border patrol on our way into Leichtenstein. It is the only time that we have ever been stopped in Europe.

We drove to Camasee in Switzerland. Do you see that water? It is so beautiful! We hiked down, ate lunch and Simon and I took turns swimming.

We then headed to the Italian part of Switzerland to the city of Lavertezzo. This place was so amazing that I almost felt like I was on a movie set. Pictures don't do it justice, so if you are ever in Switzerland go to Lavertezzo, you won't regret it.

Auburn is driving and Conley is navigating with the atlas.

We have some pretty awesome kids.
We spent the morning in Bern. When I was in college, my friend Lyndsey and I went to Bern to go to the temple and to see the sights. That was seven years ago, unbelieveable. It was great to go back and wander around the city. I think the highlight for our kids was bears that they have in the city.

How amazing! It's all so gorgeous. And I'm glad you had healthy kids for the second part of the trip! Sick kids are never fun - especially when you're on the road.

We found out last past week that we are expecting .... a baby boy! We are super excited! I had a feeling ever since we found out that I was pregnant that would be having a boy. Auburn came to the ultrasound with us and repeatedly said "baby" while we looked at the screen. We are excited for her to have a little brother. We just need to start thinking of baby boy names ....

Ich bin schwanger

Translation: I am pregnant! We are so excited to be parents again. I have been blessed to feel pretty good through the first trimester. The offical due date for our little one is May 12th. It is the day before our 4th anniversary. We don't really think that Auburn understands what is going on. When we say baby, she gets her baby doll. Although she does point to the ultrasound pictures and says baby, which I think is super sweet!
