Saturdays

This is the usual conversation between Simon and Auburn on Saturdays. They speak in Spanish, but I translated it for you.

FYI: Bundesliga is the German soccer league and Van Nistelrooy is Simon's favorite soccer player

Simon: Auburn, what is today?
Auburn: Saturday
S: What do we get to watch today?
A: Bundesliga highlights
S: Would you like to?
A: Yes!
S: What do we see?
A: Golasos (I think it translates to awesome goals or something like that)
S: Who is going to score?
A: Van Nistelrooy and Bayern Munich

Then before bedtime they watch Bundesliga highlights together and Auburn cheers for the goals. Cute! Hope everyone is having a great Saturday!

Your kids are too cute.
Do you guys remember the camel you gave to Emily? It is currently the "cool" toy and goes everywhere with her. She calls it "Humps" and explains that it came from Germany...meaning Simon and you.

I'm sure Simon couldn't be any more pleased - his daughter talking soccer, in Spanish no less. Love it.

Mexico - Mayan ruins II

Simon's parents had to get back to their mission in Mexico City and we continued on our trip.  We saw a lot of ruins, 9 in total.  This is the next post of Mayan ruins.  It was actually great for the kids as well.  They could run around, climb and explore. It was interesting to see the differences at each sight.  The kids had their favorites by the end of the trip.  We also taught them a little bit about Mayan culture. Edzna   These well preserved carvings were great.       Palanque These were probably my favorite ruins.  It is set in the jungle and it felt very peaceful there. It is hard to believe that only 10 percent of the structures are actually uncovered.  The rest are still covered by the jungle. some well preserved carvings waterfalls in the middle of the ruins The Palace   Temple of Inscription   The kids had a great time climbing up and exploring...
